Terms of Use
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Draft: these terms are being reviewed by a lawyer and may still change.
Welcome
Cobir is a platform that connects creatives in Kurdistan with each other and with the people who hire them: companies, organisations, government offices and individuals. Until Cobir is a registered company, it is run by its founder, Lazo Yousif. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Your account
You must be at least 16 years old. Give true information, keep your login private and use one account per person. Every account is checked by a real person on the Cobir team before it can post, apply or hire. Clients choose their type (individual, small business, business or organisation) and send the checking documents for it; only the team sees them. The blue tick (Verified) is given by the team and can be removed.
Your work stays yours
You keep all rights to the photos, videos, audio and text you share. You give Cobir permission to store and show them on the platform so people can see your profile and portfolio. If you delete something, we stop showing it.
Only share what you have the right to share
Post only your own work, or work you have permission to share, and credit the people you worked with. Don’t post other people’s private information.
Be respectful
No harassment, hate, threats, spam, scams, nudity or sexual content, or pretending to be someone else, in posts, opinions or messages.
Free for creatives
Cobir is free for every creative, forever. Creatives keep 100% of the pay shown on a job; Cobir never takes anything from it.
Posting jobs
A job must describe real work with the real pay, at least 50,000 IQD for each role. The Cobir team checks every new post; it then goes live to everyone in the field at the same moment, the Cobir team included, within 2 hours. The person who posted can choose someone only 12 hours after it went live, and applicants are listed by the time they applied. Nobody can pay to rank higher, and lists of people are never sorted by money.
Cobir’s fee
When a job agreement is signed, the client pays Cobir a fee on top of the creative’s pay: 10% of the first 750,000 IQD, 7% of the part from 750,000 to 3,000,000 IQD and 5% of anything above, rounded to 250 IQD, with a minimum of 10,000 IQD. Creatives who hire pay half (minimum 5,000 IQD). Booking the same creative again within 12 months costs a flat 5%. The fee is shown before you sign and fixed on the agreement when it is signed. During the launch period the fee is shown but waived. All amounts are in Iraqi dinars; dollar amounts are turned into dinars at the day’s rate shown on the platform.
Paying the fee
After the creative signs, the agreement waits for Cobir’s fee and becomes active once the team confirms it arrived. Pay by FIB, Zain Cash, FastPay or Qi to the details shown, with the reference on the invoice, then tap “I’ve paid the fee”. You get a receipt. The creative never collects money for Cobir.
Invoices for organisations and businesses
Organisations and businesses can choose to pay the fee by invoice within 15 days; the agreement is active straight away. Reminders are sent on days 10, 13, 15 and 16. If the invoice is still unpaid on day 21, the account is put on hold (no posting, hiring or new agreements) and a late fee of 10% of the unpaid amount is added. Paying in full lifts the hold straight away. By choosing to pay by invoice you accept this late fee.
Agreements and payments between you
The agreement is between the client and the creative; Cobir is the platform, not a side in the work. For jobs from 250,000 IQD, 40% is paid before work starts and 60% on delivery; below that, all on delivery. The creative’s pay goes straight from the client to the creative, in cash or by transfer, and both confirm each payment on the agreement. When the creative marks the work delivered, the client has 7 days to mark it done; after that it counts as done. Invoices, receipts and statements on Cobir are records of what the two sides agreed.
Cancelling
Cancelling a post before anyone is hired is free. After an agreement is signed, the later you cancel, the more the other side keeps. If the client cancels a week or more before the start, it costs nothing and the upfront and Cobir’s fee come back; 2 to 7 days before, the creative keeps half the upfront; less than 2 days before, or not showing up, the creative keeps the whole upfront; once work has started, the client pays for the work done and never less than the upfront. Below 250,000 IQD there is no upfront, so a late cancel is noted on the client’s account. If the creative cancels, they give back any upfront within 3 days, the post reopens to everyone at the same time and the client’s fee moves to the next person hired for it, or comes back.
Strikes
A creative who cancels less than 2 days before the start, or doesn’t show up, gets a strike. Strikes are private. With two strikes in 6 months, the team reviews the account and can pause applying for 30 days.
Moving the date
In an emergency (illness, weather, family) either side can ask to move the dates on the agreement page. It is free when the other side agrees.
When something goes wrong
Talk to each other first in messages. If you still can’t agree, either side can press “Ask Cobir for help”. The team reads the agreement, its record and what both sides wrote, and suggests a fair outcome within 5 days. This is Cobir’s suggestion, not a court ruling.
Cobir Backing (coming later)
Cobir plans a service that stands behind work done under a signed Cobir agreement, with reminders and a formal letter from Cobir’s lawyer when one side doesn’t pay or deliver. It is not in force yet and will start only once Cobir is a registered company with a lawyer. It will never cover deals made outside Cobir agreements.
Rentals
Partners on Services are approved members whom the Cobir team has met in person. Every rental has an agreement between the partner and the renter covering dates, items, price, deposit and damage, and both take photos of the gear at pickup and return. The renter is responsible for the gear until it is returned; if it comes back damaged or missing, the partner, the renter and Cobir look at the photos together. The renter pays only the partner’s price. The partner pays Cobir a share of each returned rental (15% of the first 75,000 IQD, 10% up to 750,000, 7% up to 1,500,000 and 5% above) on a monthly statement, due by the 10th. Declined and cancelled rentals cost nothing.
Reviews
Reviews open after a job through Cobir is done or cancelled, for the two people who worked together. Keep them honest and about the work. Neither side can delete the other’s review; fake reviews, or reviews used to threaten or pressure someone, are removed by the team.
Reporting
Anyone can report a post, opinion, profile, project, job, event or messages that break these rules. Our team reviews every report. The person reported isn’t told who reported them.
What we can do
To keep Cobir safe and fair we may remove content that breaks these rules, put accounts on hold for unpaid invoices, pause applying after strikes, and suspend or close accounts that break the rules repeatedly or seriously.
The service
Cobir is new and keeps changing. We work hard to keep it running and your work safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of your work.
Changes
These terms have a version date. When they change, we tell you on the platform and ask you to accept the new version; signing or sending an agreement means you accept the version of that day.
